Art for me has always been about the journey. At the beginning of most of my work I’ve not known what the end piece is going to look like, and in most cases I haven’t even got a vague clue. For a while I’ve wanted to produce something that documents that journey in some way, and I believe this new work will do just that.
‘Say When’ will be an iterative print series with a known beginning but an unknown end. Visually, the story begins with the breathtaking vista of Milford Sound in New Zealand - a photo I took on a recent trip to the Southern Hemisphere. Taking an almost episodic approach to the development of the work thereafter, over the course of two months and eleven iterations I will screen print a new and as yet unplanned element right onto what already exists. Each iteration will consist of one to three print layers, meaning that the final version could be up to a 33 layer print! Gulp.
The result will be a twelve card set of A5 postcards, available unframed and framed, as well as a limited edition of each iteration available to purchase individually.
In Kickstarter stylee, I’m offering a preorder for the full unframed set for just £50. A supplementary charge for framing will be available at the end, once I’ve confirmed quotes. The preorder will be available at this price until the first iteration is live at the end of next week. Catch it while you can.
Thanks for reading and I look forward to sharing this journey with you.
