Why do we love Tshirts? Because no Tshirt is ever really just a Tshirt. It's a story. And we love stories. Think of your own collection, sat there in your wardrobe right now, and we guarantee that you have something to say about every single one. Sometimes it's the design itself that tells the story: why you loved it and just had to have it. Or, and we find so often the case, they're the reminder of that gig, that place, that person, that time - that memory which you cherish.
We've raided our drawers, and pulled out our top three Tshirts. Some are new, some are old, but they all have something to say.
Episode 1: Tim's Top 3!
First of all, I'd like to give a shout out to the classic plain white Tshirt. Great on a summer's day, and can be worn with pretty much anything - the epitome of collaboration (in terms of the wardrobe, anyway). And, a bit like a Ford car, everyone has had one at some point in their life. To the unsung hero!
I think everyone has a favourite colour and mine is very obviously blue to anyone who knows me. Personally I like to keep myself to myself and have always been cautious in putting my personality in plain sight, but this Tshirt really caught my eye. Its tonal colours keep the branding still pretty subtle, the pattern detailing in the design is great, and is definitely my style - not too in your face.
The fit is good, and I like the tubular construction (no side seams). After experiencing Tshirts that don’t last more than one wash before they distort, even from high street retailers, this reassured me and gave me belief that good and lasting branded Tshirts can be found. It inspired me, and made me want to produce my own.
Not a branding method Twenty Pegs currently offers, but definitely an avenue I would like to experiment with in the future. The polo shirt itself is good quality and the level of embroidery detail in the small logo is great. When actually looked at closely, you can even see muscle tone of the horse and rider. The intricate details give it a 3D effect rather than a standard flat feel.
Smart/casual, suitable for all occasions. Theres a reason so many of us have one in our possession.
It was the material that stood out for me. It was so different to everything else on the shelf, and although the price wasn’t favourable, it had to be mine!
Purchased on a visit to London, with someone special to me, who at the time was not more than a friend. 11 years later I still have the Tshirt, although it has seen better days, just about still fits, and have in that time married my best friend and had our son together. Great memories and I don’t think I can ever imagine not seeing it hanging in my wardrobe.
