What does collaboration mean to you? Working together is the lifeblood of our brand and everything we do, but what does that really mean? Saara, Tim and Greg explain what collaboration means to them, and why it is so important.
Episode 2: Tim's view
To me, collaboration is like building blocks, or components, where the sum of the smaller elements combine to make something better or larger, that would not be possible if done with less.
There are so many examples in everyday life where we take collaboration for granted, like your car, your computer, your phone, pretty much everything you own. Where although one brand might have their name on it, do you know how many other companies/people have been involved to get to the finished product? Probably 10s or hundreds, each specialising in their own area, which can turn something from ok or even not possible, to outstanding.
Collaboration isn’t just about the end result either, it brings together different perspectives which can challenge the beliefs or methods of the norm, meaning the processes involved in getting to the end result change, become more efficient, more cost effective, or better designed.
If you are in the position currently or ever reach the position of running a business, the benefit of this will become or will already be very apparent. Business is not a challenge you face alone, it is a reality made possible by working together.
